Electric Power Tool Expert

for Consumer Class Action

The need

Attorneys representing the plaintiffs in a consumer class action against a power tool retailer needed an expert in electric power tools to make their case. The suit alleged that tools sold by the defendant had faulty switches leaving it impossible to turn them off. Given the details of the case, the ideal expert would need to be experienced with electric power tools as well as their components.

Our approach

From conversations with the client, we understood that they wanted the expert early to consult throughout discovery. The facts of the case in mind, we went to work to find a precise match quickly.

The expert

We found an expert with and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in electrical engineering who was a named inventor on four patents and founded his own technology and engineering consulting practice. He had broad experience with electrical devices, electrical power, and electrical safety. Additionally, he was a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers as well as the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Finally, he was an experienced expert witness having written expert reports and given depositions as well as testimony in several cases.
